schooner THÖ-PA-GA

The shipyard from the brothers NAVARRO built their best schooner and for that named her TRES HERMANOS (The 3 brothers). Built with pitchpine cut at the best full moon and dried 30 years in the shadow, she is advantaged with lines that always has been envied and appreciated between the Captains for her speed and her outline.

With the NAVIERA MALLORQUINA, the schooner receive her first engine in 1930, but in the high sea CALA TUENT prevail sailing. The main freight consist in carrying the precious oranges from Palma, Soller, Alicante and Valencia to Marseille in France, together with 50 other pailebots.

With the Naviera MATUTES, the main freight consist of all the material of construction for the new development of the famous island of Ibiza, together with 10 other pailebots.

Rigged only with a cargo boom, CALA TUENT is bought by CIRCUM NAVEGACIONES. The ship is then re-rigged into an original for & aft schooner.
Until 1984, the schooner has a regular line for general cargo between the French Caribbean Islands, with a special derogation every week from the French Maritime Authorities, for been the only freighter qualified locally to carry special freight (20.000 tons in 4 years). see references

The shooner has again spanish merchant marine flag, registered in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria under n°3/00. Certificate for receiving on board 150 PAX in the 3 nmiles range coastal navigation.
In April & May 2000, she was autorized to receive on board 21 trainees for a 40 days trip between Valencia, Genova , Cadiz, Valencia under the name of ONO-CIUDAD DE CADIZ.
